The
John Shows Association will  Meet
the Second Saturday of August at the
Moselle Community
Center.
A
Map is enclosed with this newsletter, the meeting will start
at 10:30 AM.
To all of our cousins out there greetings again and best of all things
to each of you.
Last year we asked that
everyone bring to the reunion any family information of their families
of any kind including pictures, we had a fair response to this and there
were some connections made. If
everyone will participate in this your individual research will progress
much faster. Also if any of
you wish to send an open letter to the meeting concerning your
individual research I will post it for everyone to read.
There was no action taken at the meeting about a web page for the
Shows’, but hopefully someone with the expertise will come forward and
set it up and be the web master. Again there will be expenses involved.
Membership dues was brought before the membership and
denied. The consensus was
that dues would be detrimental to members remaining in the association.
Again we wold like for someone to bring a portable
copying machine to the
meeting. Last year Ronnie
Shows’ lovely wife brought hers and it received a work out.
There were materials
distributed from several families.
Jewel Horner of Mobile Ala. (A descendant of John R. Shows) had some very good material that she graciously shared with all.
If any of you have any interesting stories to share with the group about
our ancestors, write it up and bring it with you to the meeting.
We will be glad to hear your presentation and I will include it
in the next news letter.
