My husband's great grandmother was a Sellars.  Note the spelling.  It is even that way in records, which is amazing since so many of the other surnames I've worked on have  been varied and almost obscured by county clerks and census takers.  The a occasionally is an e, but that is the more common spelling.  The family knew who this great grandmother's parents were, it was going back the additional generation that was a challenge.   I got lucky in Point Coupee Parish, LA.  They have records back to 1808.  I found succession records (probate records) that really spelled out the children and the wife's name.  Now I've added the Curry surname to the hunt.
