My mother-in-law is a Kramer. She is deeply involved with being
'family'. Growing up there was a great deal of talk about her mother's
people, but not much on her fathers side. I got lucky in going through the
International Genealogical Index after a cousin provided me with information
from a Kramer family bible that contained the names of the immigrating
ancestor's mother and his siblings. We have a treasure trove of family
photos after the immigration. This last trip to Salt Lake City brought me
new knowledge of German records. I found several birth records for the
Kramers. I will be trying to locate more on subsequent trips. They
do take time as reading the old German script is time consuming and tiring.
