It is also interesting to see how people traveled from one state to another in those early years. You never know where you will find a COUSIN. Especially, I like you Signature Statement on your first page. Good Luck, Joyce

Was very pleased to find your site. I have only recently begun researching my Wilson line. I am a G-grandson of the above person and had no information on him before he came to Missouri other than his birth date of 1815 and location of Tennessee. Once I organize my data, I'll be back in touch to see if you would like any information on his descendants in Missouri and also to see if you have any other information you'd be willing to share with me to assist in my research. I really like your photo gallery, but wish more of the photos had a date and location to help identify people. Thanks for the great site !

She is the correct age to be one of Richard's daughters as shown in the 1840 Pike, MS census. That census shows him w/ 5-6 daughters and one son but I have only found sources for three sons including your David W. Forrest.

By the way have you heard of the Rutherford name being connected to Thomas Mathis Sr.? There was one woman there that thought Thomas's wife was a Rutherford.

Hello. I have done a little work with Mildred Young Bouda, down in Huntsville, Ala. I'm ashamed to say that I've not maintained contact with her since we moved back to Michigan 2 1/2 years ago. I created a tree of both of our families, but have not been able to make a connection between them. I was able to place them about 40 miles apart in Czech. My family migrated to Wisconsin and Mass. My deepest probe was to Josef (of #25 Koryta, Bohemia), married to Marie Kauer. Their son Josef B. was born in 1851 and was the start of our family in Wisconsin, having arrived in the US in 1877 with wife Barbora and two sons. I know that there a lot of Bouda family members, the name even appears on the D Day memorial in France - - on the German side. I think I supplied Mildred with a copy of my work thru 2001.

I became interested in genealogy when my Mom was remembering more about the past then she was of the present. She always talked about her family when I was young, but as she aged, she spoke more about them and I became more interested. She told me once that her parents had no headstones on their graves, because they were too poor in the Depression (Oklahoma in 1931 and 1933) to buy them any. I promised her if I found where her parents were buried, I would get them headstones. She died in January 2000, and I have yet to keep my promise. I think your website is one of the best I've seen. I'm making it one of my "favorites".

Comments:
My husband, Alan Oppel is related to you thru Esquire Chambers. Esquire's son Martin VanBueran Chambers married MaryAnn Prewitt, and their daughter Lucinda Nancy Chambers is our direct ancestor. Lucinda (Nancy) married John Jones, and their Daughter Ruby Izella Jones is my husband Alan Oppel's maternal grandmother. Ruby had a fascinating life, and eventually married Conrad Melvin Oppel, Alan's Grandfather. Interestingly enough, Conrad & Ruby had NO CHILDREN together. Conrad Oppel and his 1st wife, Sara (Betty) Burns are Alan's PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, and Ruby Izella Jones Graham Graham Oppel when she was married to Chester Franklin Graham, are Alan's MATERNAL Grandparents. VERY confusing!!??!! Alan's Maternal Grandmother (Ruby Jones) married Alan's Paternal Granfather (Conrad Oppel) much later in life.
WHEW! What an interesting family tree!!
I SO MUCH appreciate your research, as I had no clue as to Ruby's family. THANKS!!!

Who is your oldest documented ancestor? Samuel Smith-Frances Taunton
Comments:
I am also researching my husband's family. His father drew up a family tree for both sides with as much info as he had. His oldest ancestor was Samuel Smith who married Frances Taunton. After looking at the two possibly three Frances (Francis), my hopes were dashed! Smiths are difficult to research!! These folks had at least 4 sons and were in Union Parish, Louisiana. My husband says they may have been from Georgia or Alabama.

Comments:
At least two on your list married into my family: Dora Shows and Amos Edward Walker--both in the Tumlin descendants--my mother's mother's family. Saw you had cataloged Hebron Cemetery in Jackson Parish also. A lot of my relatives are buried there--great grandparents and grandparents among the cousins, steps, etc. My grandfather led music in the old church which has long since been torn down. Have bookmarked your site to come back. Looking forward to "seeing" you again.

Comments:
I love your website thankyou. I have found Richard Taylor from Nottinghamshire, England. I don't know when he was born or who he was born to. But he was married to Sarah Nolidge 5 July 1761 at St. Mary's, Blyth, Nottinghamshire, England. His daughter Elizabeth Taylor was born 12 MAR 1762, married Joseph Garside (born 1760). The Garside line is the line I have researched the most. But I also have a Dunham side that I have been researching also. Its fun but very time consuming and frustrating at times. I wish that I had more time and resources to do more. But for right now its a hobby.
